Regine Aalders is currently the Counselor for Health, Welfare and Sports at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington DC representing Dutch interests in the domains of Health, Welfare and Sport in the U.S. and Canada. Before that she was the global health advisor to the Dutch minister. In addition she served as advisor on economic diplomacy for Life Sciences and Health. From 1993 - 2003 Regine Aalders was the head of the Inspectorate for Youth and Child Care Services of the Netherlands serving the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. She was head of the International Welfare Policy Department from 1987-1992. Aalders graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Utrecht.
